EVO-MIX Diet Feeder FAQs
What oil should I use in the gearboxes?
We recommend that you use EP80-90 gear oil in both the planetary and 2-speed gearboxes. You can also use a fully synthetic oil, please get in touch with RS Agri on 01256 850777 for more information.
How do I change my planetary gearbox oil?
You will need to drain the old oil out of the gearbox and when you are ready to put the new oil in, you must pump it in.
Do I have to spend a lot of time on maintenance?
All EVO-MIX machines just regular the basic weekly maintenance like greasing the grease points and just checking for any damage.
I have a height limit; do I need a special machine?
Depending on the height of the height restriction would determine whether you needed a special low machine. RS Agri would work with you and guide you to help you decide on the correct machine.
Can I caustic treat material with EVO-MIX?
Yes, the EVO-MIX has a pressurised sealed tub that allows you to add water and liquids to dry ingredients. You can also add high levels of liquid to yours mixes.
Can I chop fodder beet?
Yes, we have a QuickCut blade system which is designed to help chop forage and beet material faster.
How much oil does each gearbox hold?
The planetary gearbox holds between 18-20 litres and the 2-speed gearbox holds between 12-15 litres of oil.
What is the standard warranty on the machines?
All EVO-MIX machines have a standard 12 month or 500 working hours (whichever comes sooner) warranty on parts and labour. There is an extended warranty package available; please get in touch with RS Agri on 01256 85077 for more information.
Can I feed over a high barrier or into a ring feeder?
Yes, this can be done by having an elevator fitted to the cross conveyor or discharge door.
I have a width limit; do I need a special machine?
We offer an EVO-MIX N machine which is specially built for width restrictions. This machine ranges from 10m3 to 24m3.
Can I chop bales?
Yes, EVO-MIX can handle bales of hay, straw, and silage. For the best results, the contra knives should be pushed in, so the bale does not just get pushed around the tub.
Can I have a feed management system?
Yes, all machines come with a Bluetooth programmable weigh & tare weighing system, but Feedlync by Cowconnect is available for an extra cost; please get in touch with RS Agri on 01256 850777 for more information.
SABRE Bale Processor FAQs
How much horsepower do I need?
You will need to have a tractor with a minimum of 100 PTO horsepower to drive any of the SABRE machines. However, the bigger the tractor the better the machine works.
Do I have to spend a lot of time on maintenance?
All SABRE machines just the regular basic weekly maintenance like greasing the grease points and just checking for any damage. There is some more in depth maintenance, see the operator’s manual for this.
Can I process different types of material?
All SABRE machines can handle straw, hay and clamp or baled forage material. With the SABRE 600+ and 900+ to feed forage material the beater concave would have to be removed.
How long does it take to chop a bale?
With the SABRE 600+ & 900+, they can chop a 2800 x 1200 x 1200mm rectangular bale of straw or hay in roughly 4 minutes.
Is it easy to change from chopping to shredding?
Yes it is. With the SABRE 600+ and 900+, it is very easy to change from chopping to shredding material, just a flick of a switch and no need to remove the beater concave.

How short can I chop straw or hay?
With the standard beater concave, the SABRE 600+ & 900+ can chop straw or hay to between 20-60mm. There is an option to have a shorter chop beater concave, where straw or hay can be chopped to between 0-50mm.
What is the blowing distance?
All SABRE machines have a blowing distance of 25 metres, this is achieved by a high-speed flywheel.
